Mailart Mission Accomplished!

I have had a long-time goal of being included on Brain Cell Issue #888.

Well, my penfriends, I made it!!

My rubber stamp design was included in Issue #888 in the upper left-hand corner in a pretty teal/blue ink.
"Flemina Island PMP-008, with palm frond".

 PMP = Postal Modern Permit

With the frequent mail I sent Mr. Cohen's way, I also was on Issue #887.

Above: My rubber stamp self-portrait, My "BLA" hand-carved stamp, AND my Infinite Network stamp were all included in green ink on the bottom left-hand side. Also included was the "Flemina Island PMP-008" in orange ink towards the middle-right. 

A pleasant surprise that the artistamp I designed for Vittore Baroni's GAC call for submissions (which was put on the documentation cover!) was included in green ink on the bottom right-hand corner. This must have trailed in on someone else's mail. How fun!

Brain Cell #885 included my small return address stamp at the tippitytop in pink ink.

 This so totally made my mail art week/month/year!

Nearing my Current Mail Art Goal

Well, it is in the hands of Mr. Cohen at this point. Brain Cell is currently at issue #884. I sent mail out to Japan on March 3rd, March 17th, April 2nd and April 16th.

I was not included in issue #884, so I hope this bodes well that my four mailings will get me included in Issue #888, which has been my goal for a looooooong while now. For over 100 issues, at least. I did my best to time it in sync.

I didn't create a special artistamp for the issue, as I previously mentioned. One, I wasn't sure it would align with the issue I made it for; don't want to assume. Also, the time crept up on me, and I'd rather have something on #888 than spend time making something special and getting it put on #889.

So, the waiting begins.

Outgoing

I've held on to the postcard above for a while now. When I came across Val Herman's Phone Box mail art call, I thought it was a perfect fit. Thinking about how my daughter would have no clue what half of the stuff is on here, I added "the kids say "What?!?" and added a few more comments from there. Even the telephone is a foreign image to her, as represented here. She only video calls her friends. 

I also found it interesting that this postcard is a reproduction of an "Indian Educational Chart". Produced when??

And below is an outgoing to BrainCell. It's currently at No. 857. So, I'll likely miss out on No. 858. My next goal will be No. 868 and then (crossing my fingers) I can align the timing to make it onto No. 888 (my current Mail Art goal). I think I'll create a special artistamp for that issue in hopes of upping my odds.
